Shipping Foam

For general interest to all.....I recently received some Monarch pupae to add some new genes to my stock...they arrived in this neat shipping foam that had been hand produced...the company receives it's pupae from the Far East in these packs.

I thought the photo would be of general interest to members and maybe even some company could produce this slotted foam by machine. The pupae came in layers like this with a thin piece of foam between layers. These all pack into a small cardboard box....my guess is that you don't need to consider cool packs in most situations...these certainly didn't have any...in fact I never use cool packs when sending pupae and never have had any problems. Apart from being in perfect condition the box required was small light and cheap for posting.
